About the role

Have you ever listened to a voicemail transcript so garbled you had to play the original audio anyway? We already have a solid general-purpose speech model in production; what's missing is a specialized layer tuned for the low-quality, noisy audio typical of voicemail. You'll fine-tune models specifically on voicemail-style audio, then build evaluation sets that reflect real-world call conditions rather than clean studio recordings. We publish internally and encourage conference submissions on speech research.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Fine-tune speech models on voicemail-quality audio
  • Build evaluation sets reflecting real-world call conditions
  • Benchmark accuracy against the general-purpose production model
  • Publish internal findings on noisy-audio transcription

Requirements

  • 4+ years with pytorch and speech or audio models
  • Experience with hugging face model fine-tuning
  • Comfortable working with messy, real-world audio data
