AI Warranty Claims Fraud Detection Analyst

About the role

We serve over 150 auto and appliance manufacturers who lose millions each year to inflated or entirely fabricated warranty claims. The person in this role will build and maintain the scoring models that flag suspicious claims before payout, working closely with the claims operations team that reviews the top of the queue every morning. You'll spend most of your time in claims data — repair logs, part serial numbers, technician notes — looking for the statistical fingerprints of fraud rings versus honest repair shops having a bad month. Precision matters here: a false flag costs a legitimate repair shop real money.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and retrain the warranty fraud scoring model on a monthly cadence
  • Investigate false positive patterns flagged by the claims review team
  • Write SQL-based feature pipelines against the claims and repair shop databases
  • Present model performance and precision/recall tradeoffs to claims operations leadership

Requirements

  • Solid grounding in applied statistics and hypothesis testing
  • Production experience with scikit-learn classification models
  • Comfortable writing complex SQL against large transactional databases
  • Experience working with claims, insurance, or transactional fraud data a plus
