About the role
We run a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers and our recommendation engine is core to engagement. We need an applied scientist who has built collaborative filtering or content-based systems in production.
Responsibilities
- Improve and maintain our real-time recommendation engine
- Run offline and online experiments to validate model changes
- Monitor model performance and handle drift
- Collaborate with platform engineering on deployment
- Stay current with recommendation research
Requirements
- Experience building recommendation systems at scale
- Strong Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow)
- Understanding of evaluation metrics (NDCG, precision, recall)
- SQL and experience working with large datasets
- Able to communicate model trade-offs clearly
