About the role

We run a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers and our recommendation engine is core to engagement. We need an applied scientist who has built collaborative filtering or content-based systems in production.

Responsibilities

  • Improve and maintain our real-time recommendation engine
  • Run offline and online experiments to validate model changes
  • Monitor model performance and handle drift
  • Collaborate with platform engineering on deployment
  • Stay current with recommendation research

Requirements

  • Experience building recommendation systems at scale
  • Strong Python (Scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow)
  • Understanding of evaluation metrics (NDCG, precision, recall)
  • SQL and experience working with large datasets
  • Able to communicate model trade-offs clearly
