About the role

This marketplace has enough traffic to support meaningful modelling, but not enough patience for academic detours. We need an applied scientist who can improve ranking quality while balancing supply fairness, buyer conversion, and seller trust. You will work closely with product and engineering on a problem that is measurable and commercially central.

Responsibilities

  • Improve ranking logic across search and browse surfaces
  • Design experiments that measure both buyer and seller impact
  • Work with product teams on guardrails and fairness trade-offs
  • Support feature analysis and monitoring after model launches
  • Help define the roadmap for the marketplace intelligence stack

Requirements

  • 5+ years in ranking, recommendations, or marketplace ML
  • Python for experimentation and production-adjacent tooling
  • SQL for large-scale behavioural analysis
  • Scikit-learn or PyTorch for practical model development
  • Statistics for experiment design and offline evaluation
  • Experience shipping models that interact with product constraints
