Full-time · Mid-level · Detroit

About the role

Some computer vision jobs are all demos. This one is steel, dust, glare, and shift supervisors who only care whether the defect was caught. We build inspection systems for manufacturing lines, and we need an engineer who likes debugging the awkward edge cases that stop a model from being trusted on the floor.

Responsibilities

  • Improve defect detection quality under changing factory conditions
  • Investigate failure cases caused by lighting, motion blur, and product variation
  • Work with hardware and product teams on data collection priorities
  • Build evaluations tied to recall, false positives, and operator trust
  • Help maintain deployment packaging for line-side inference systems

Requirements

  • 4+ years in computer vision or visual inspection systems
  • Python for experimentation and tooling
  • Computer Vision fundamentals including detection and segmentation
  • PyTorch for model training and evaluation
  • NumPy for dataset handling and analysis
  • Docker for reproducible deployment environments

Benefits

  • $118,000 - $144,000 base salary
  • Hybrid in Detroit with flexible remote days
  • Performance bonus and equity
  • Exposure to live production lines
  • A practical CV environment with direct customer value
