About the role

Contract role. Immediate need. We have paying compliance customers and a document-review pipeline that is useful but still too noisy. The next person on this project will focus on obligation extraction and document comparison, with a strong emphasis on traceability. Our users do not want magic. They want to know which clause triggered which output and whether they can trust it enough to save review time. The scope is narrow on purpose, and we would rather hire someone practical than someone theatrical.

Responsibilities

Improve obligation extraction accuracy across regulatory notices and internal policy documents
Refine comparison workflows for identifying policy changes and compliance gaps
Build clear evaluation datasets and metrics that reflect reviewer effort reduction
Document pipeline logic and decisions so the permanent team can maintain the system after handoff
Participate in weekly working sessions with product and compliance specialists

Requirements

4+ years of NLP engineering with hands-on production work in extraction, classification, or document comparison
Python for pipeline development and evaluation
Hugging Face for transformer fine-tuning or embedding workflows
LangChain for retrieval and structured generation orchestration where useful
RAG experience in document-heavy workflows with citation expectations
SQL for document metadata, audit logs, and evaluation set management
