About the role

We serve over 200 grocery and retail chains that rely on our forecasts to decide what to stock next week. The person in this role will work on the pricing and assortment models feeding those decisions. You'll pull together transaction, weather, and promotional data into models that hold up when a chain's category manager asks 'why did you recommend this?' This is a hybrid role with two days a week in our regional office alongside the analytics team.

Responsibilities

  • Build demand and pricing models from transaction-level data
  • Explain model recommendations to non-technical retail partners
  • Validate forecasts against actuals and iterate weekly
  • Collaborate with the data engineering team on feature pipelines

Requirements

  • 2+ years in a data science or analytics role
  • Strong Python, pandas, and statistics fundamentals
  • Experience communicating model results to business stakeholders
  • Comfortable with messy, real-world retail data
