About the role

The company is profitable. The dashboards are polished. The churn model is still not trusted. That is the gap. We want a data scientist who can move past vanity analytics and build retention insight that marketing, finance, and product will all use without arguing over the definitions every week.

Responsibilities

  • Build churn and expansion propensity models for subscriber cohorts
  • Analyse retention drivers across lifecycle stages and acquisition channels
  • Create evaluation approaches that non-technical stakeholders can follow
  • Partner with lifecycle marketing on prioritised interventions
  • Document assumptions so the team knows where the model should not be overused

Requirements

  • 4+ years in data science or product analytics
  • Python for modelling and analysis
  • SQL for large subscription and event datasets
  • Pandas for data preparation and feature work
  • Statistics for experiment design and uncertainty communication
  • Scikit-learn for practical predictive modelling

Benefits

  • $120,000 - $142,000 base salary
  • Hybrid in New York with two in-office days
  • Bonus potential and solid retirement benefits
  • Dedicated analytics engineering support
  • Clear commercial impact from the work
