About the role

As a fully async team spread across 9 time zones, we believe great engineers can do their best work wherever they are. Our visual effects models are good but not fast enough for the render volumes our studio clients now demand. We need someone who can rearchitect our core deep learning stack for speed without sacrificing output quality, then ship it into the pipelines our artists rely on every day.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Rearchitect core vision models for faster inference at scale
  • Profile and optimize GPU utilization across the render pipeline
  • Partner with the tools team to integrate models into artist workflows
  • Benchmark new architectures against production quality bars
  • Write internal documentation on model tradeoffs and limitations

Requirements

  • 5+ years in deep learning, ideally with computer vision experience
  • Strong PyTorch and TensorFlow skills
  • Experience optimizing models for GPU inference throughput
  • Comfortable working async with distributed teammates
  • Portfolio of shipped production models
