Junior AI API Error Message Clarity Developer

About the role

Most developers who leave our platform don't leave because of price. They leave after the third cryptic 400 error. Uelvex Cloud sells model inference APIs to developers, and our support logs show that confusing error messages are the top cause of churn in the first week. In this junior role you'll analyze which errors confuse people, rewrite and restructure messages so they explain what went wrong and how to fix it, and build an LLM-assisted helper that suggests fixes inside our dashboard. You'll pair with our developer experience lead and ship to production within your first month.

Responsibilities

  • Mine support tickets and API logs to rank errors by confusion and churn impact
  • Rewrite error responses with clear causes, fixes and documentation links
  • Build a FastAPI service that suggests fixes for failed requests using an LLM
  • Track first-week activation before and after each change

Requirements

  • Early-career developer comfortable with Python and REST APIs
  • Clear, concise writing; you'll be writing for other developers all day
  • Some exposure to LLM APIs or prompt design
  • Bonus: you've built a side project on someone else's API and got frustrated by it
