Junior AI Developer Education Content Engineer

About the role

We serve 120,000 developers who use our AI platform to build production applications. Our documentation is good. Our tutorials are passable. But our interactive learning content — the hands-on labs, the code challenges, the guided projects — is years behind what developers actually expect from a modern DevEx platform. You'll join the education team to help fix that. Your job is building the backend infrastructure for interactive coding exercises: sandboxed execution environments, automated test runners, progress tracking, and the AI-assisted hint system that nudges learners when they get stuck without just giving away the answer. The senior education engineer designs the pedagogy; you build the plumbing that makes it work. This is a growth role with a clear path. The first project is a 6-week Python AI fundamentals course launching in Q3.

Responsibilities

  • Build sandboxed code execution environments for interactive learning modules
  • Implement automated test runners that validate exercise solutions
  • Develop progress tracking APIs consumed by the learning frontend
  • Integrate LLM-based hint generation that guides without revealing answers
  • Write unit tests for backend services and maintain CI pipelines
  • Collaborate with education designers to understand pedagogical requirements

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of APIs and backend services
  • Interest in developer education or developer experience
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and CI/CD concepts
  • Strong written communication for documentation
