Junior AI Freight Invoice Audit Automation Developer

About the role

Our freight invoice checks are still half manual, and the backlog grows every Monday. Carriers bill accessorial charges, fuel surcharges and detention fees that often don't match the agreed rate, and Orvion Systems' audit team catches errors by hand in spreadsheets. We're hiring a junior developer to automate as much of that as possible. You'll build Airflow jobs that pull invoices and rate contracts, write rules and simple models that flag overcharges, and create a review queue so auditors only look at the cases that matter. Expect fast feedback: the audit team sits in the same Slack channel and will tell you within hours if something is wrong.

Responsibilities

  • Build Airflow pipelines that ingest carrier invoices and contracted rate tables
  • Write rule-based and ML-assisted checks for common overcharge patterns
  • Partner with the audit team to prioritize which charge types to automate next
  • Track dollars recovered and false-flag rate in a weekly report

Requirements

  • Some experience with Python and SQL from work, internships or serious projects
  • Interest in logistics, operations or finance automation
  • Comfortable asking questions and learning domain rules quickly
  • Exposure to Airflow or AWS is a plus
