Junior AI Glossary Extraction Developer

About the role

The glossaries you build will be used by 2,000 professional translators every day to keep terminology consistent across contracts, manuals and medical leaflets. Wavion Intelligence provides language technology to translation agencies, and today their term lists are compiled by hand from old documents. We want to extract candidate terms and their approved translations automatically from aligned corpora. You'll start by improving our baseline extractor built on Hugging Face models, then help validate output with in-house linguists.

Responsibilities

  • Improve our term extraction pipeline for English, Spanish, French and German corpora
  • Build alignment checks that pair source terms with their approved translations
  • Measure precision and recall against linguist-reviewed glossaries
  • Clean and version the corpora used for training and evaluation

Requirements

  • Python and pandas proficiency; Hugging Face experience from projects or studies
  • Interest in linguistics, translation or multilingual NLP
  • Working knowledge of at least one language besides English
  • Basic SQL for querying our corpus database
