About the role

We manage ML infrastructure for 28 AI companies that don't want to hire dedicated platform teams. Our platform monitors their training clusters, flags inefficiencies, and generates weekly infrastructure health reports. The monitoring is solid. The reporting is not — it's manually assembled by a senior engineer who spends 3 hours every Friday pulling data and writing summaries. This is a freelance engagement to automate the report generation pipeline. You'll build the data collection layer that pulls infrastructure metrics from our monitoring systems, the template engine that assembles those metrics into structured health reports, and the delivery mechanism that sends the right report to the right client contact on schedule. The senior engineer currently writing these reports will be your main collaborator and reviewer. This is a 4-month engagement at 30 hours per week, with a clear scope: automate the Friday report from 3 hours to 10 minutes. Responsibilities

  • Build data collection pipelines pulling infrastructure metrics from monitoring systems
  • Implement report template engine assembling metrics into structured health summaries
  • Create automated delivery system routing correct reports to client contacts
  • Add data validation to catch anomalies before reports are sent
  • Write tests for the report generation pipeline
  • Document the automated system for knowledge transfer

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python development experience
  • Basic understanding of data pipelines and API integrations
  • Familiarity with scheduling tools and cron-based automation
  • Ability to work independently with a clear deliverable
  • Good written communication for documentation
