About the role

Our team works async across 9 time zones, and we trust engineers to work from wherever they're most productive as long as they document their reasoning clearly. Our internal wiki has grown to thousands of pages that keyword search barely handles anymore. You'll help build a semantic index using embeddings so employees can ask natural questions and get the right page back. It's a small, high-trust team — expect to ship your first improvement in week one.

Responsibilities

  • Build embedding-based search indexing for the internal wiki
  • Evaluate retrieval quality against real employee queries
  • Iterate on chunking strategy for long documents

Requirements

  • Some experience with python and either rag or hugging face
  • Comfortable working async with limited synchronous overlap
  • Strong written communication for documenting decisions
