Junior AI Manufacturing Line Optimization Developer

About the role

We just closed our Series B and are scaling our industrial AI platform into the automotive and electronics manufacturing sectors. The expansion means more clients, more data, and more integration work than our current team can absorb. We're hiring junior developers on contract to help ship the backlog. This role focuses on the data integration layer for production line optimization: connecting our platform to factory MES systems, ingesting real-time production metrics, and building the dashboards that plant engineers use to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies. The senior engineers handle the ML models and optimization algorithms; you'll build the data plumbing that feeds those systems. This is a 6-month contract with strong potential for extension or conversion to full-time. We'll assign you a senior engineering buddy for the first 60 days. Responsibilities

  • Build data integration connectors for MES and SCADA system feeds
  • Ingest and normalize real-time production metrics into our data platform
  • Implement dashboard components for plant engineer KPI monitoring
  • Write data validation checks for sensor feed quality
  • Fix bugs and handle integration issues reported by manufacturing clients
  • Document integration architecture for client technical teams

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python and SQL development experience
  • Basic understanding of data pipelines and time-series data
  • Familiarity with Docker for development environments
  • Interest in industrial IoT, manufacturing, or operational analytics
  • Reliable and communicative remote work habits
