Junior AI Regulatory Change Impact Simulation Developer

About the role

When a financial regulation changes, compliance teams need to understand what it means for their specific business before it takes effect. The analysis is usually qualitative: lawyers read the new text, identify affected provisions, and write memos about likely impact. Simulation is the next step: if we change the threshold in regulation X from $50,000 to $25,000, how many of our transactions would newly fall within scope, and what would the compliance cost be? This is a 9-month contract to build the regulatory change impact simulation capability for our compliance intelligence platform. You'll build the pipeline that takes a regulatory change description, maps it to the relevant operational parameters in a client's compliance model, and runs simulations quantifying how many transactions, products, or customers would be affected under the proposed change. Senior engineers define the compliance modeling architecture. You implement the simulation execution layer: parameterizing client data models for sensitivity testing, running impact quantification calculations, and producing the simulation output reports that compliance leads use for budget planning and regulatory response submissions.

Responsibilities

  • Build simulation execution pipeline parameterizing client compliance models for regulatory change scenarios
  • Implement impact quantification calculating transaction, product, and customer scope changes
  • Create simulation output reports for compliance lead review and regulatory response submissions
  • Develop parameter sensitivity analysis showing how impact changes across regulatory threshold ranges
  • Build scenario comparison enabling side-by-side analysis of multiple regulatory change options
  • Maintain simulation pipeline as client compliance models and data sources are updated

Requirements

  • 1+ year of Python and SQL development experience
  • Basic familiarity with data analysis and scenario modeling concepts
  • Interest in regulatory compliance, financial services, or policy analysis
  • Attention to numerical accuracy in simulation outputs used for regulatory submissions
  • Reliable async communication for a contract engagement
