Junior Data Engineer

About the role

You'll be the fourth engineer on a data team of nine, working closely with the people who built our document extraction pipelines from scratch. We don't care where you work from, only that you show up, communicate clearly, and own your tasks. What we have already: a solid extraction pipeline processing thousands of documents a day. What's missing: an extra pair of hands to help maintain and extend it as volume grows.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing ETL pipelines processing document data
  • Write Python scripts to fix data quality issues
  • Support senior engineers in scheduling new Airflow workflows
  • Monitor pipeline runs and flag failures early
  • Document pipeline logic as you learn the system

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience with data engineering or scripting
  • Working knowledge of SQL and Python
  • Basic exposure to ETL concepts
  • Familiarity with Airflow is a plus, not required
  • Comfortable asking questions and learning from senior engineers
