Machine Learning Engineer

Olivia Wang

Full-time · Job · Chicago

About the role

Our factory-floor cameras generate more inspection data than our current models can turn into decisions. We're looking for someone who can close that gap. The role starts with a concrete problem: reducing false positives on our defect classifiers without slowing down the line. You'll build, test, and retrain models against real production footage every week. You'll work closely with the vision team and manufacturing partners who use the models daily, so feedback loops are short and the impact is visible fast.

Responsibilities

  • Train and evaluate classification models against production defect data
  • Reduce false-positive rates while maintaining detection sensitivity
  • Build repeatable retraining pipelines for new product lines
  • Document model behavior for manufacturing partners

Requirements

  • 3+ years building and shipping ML models
  • Strong PyTorch and scikit-learn fundamentals
  • Comfortable working with imbalanced, real-world datasets
  • Experience packaging models with Docker

Benefits

  • Fully remote position
  • Competitive salary and annual bonus
  • Health insurance
  • Paid conference attendance
