About the role
We build a consumer app that allows anyone to photograph a skin lesion and receive an AI-assisted risk assessment — with triage guidance toward a dermatologist if needed.
We need a senior engineer to lead model development for skin lesion classification (benign/malignant and type classification across 8 categories). We have a dataset of 400k annotated dermoscopy and clinical images.
The product is live in 3 markets. We are under FDA SaMD review. You'll work within those regulatory constraints from day one — everything documented, reproducible, and audit-ready.
Requirements
- – Dermoscopy or clinical image classification experience (ISIC dataset familiarity is a strong plus)
- – PyTorch, experience with transfer learning on medical images
- – Understanding of class imbalance, calibration and uncertainty quantification
- – Experience in regulated environments (FDA or CE preferred)
- – Strong documentation habits
