About the role

A good enterprise search result saves five minutes. A bad one creates ten minutes of doubt. We need someone who cares about that difference. This role is about retrieval quality, reranking, and query understanding for private document collections where the hard part is rarely the model alone.

Responsibilities

  • Improve ranking quality across legal, finance, and operations document corpora
  • Build evaluation sets from real user search tasks
  • Tune retrieval and citation logic to reduce noisy answers
  • Partner with product on high-trust search interactions
  • Keep documentation strong so retrieval changes remain auditable

Requirements

  • 3+ years in NLP, search, or document intelligence
  • Python for pipeline and evaluation work
  • Hugging Face for embeddings or reranking models
  • LlamaIndex or comparable retrieval framework
  • RAG practices focused on citation and grounding quality
  • SQL for corpus metadata and usage analysis
