About the role

LangChain, Hugging Face models, and a home-grown retrieval layer are the core of our search stack. If you've spent time making search engines understand what people actually mean instead of just what they typed, this role is built for you. You'll design query expansion and rewriting systems that catch synonyms, typos, and intent shifts before they hit our ranking layer, and you'll own the evaluation loop that proves each change actually improves relevance. Why this is interesting: our search box handles millions of queries a day across a dozen languages, and the expansion logic you ship touches nearly every one of them.

Responsibilities

  • Design query rewriting and expansion models using RAG techniques
  • Own offline and online evaluation for search relevance changes
  • Collaborate with ranking engineers on end-to-end query flow
  • Tune retrieval prompts for multilingual query sets

Requirements

  • 5+ years in NLP or search relevance engineering
  • Deep familiarity with LangChain or comparable RAG frameworks
  • Strong SQL skills for query log analysis
  • Experience with Hugging Face model fine-tuning
