About the role

We just closed our Series A and are scaling fast. Our product automates customer onboarding for SaaS companies using LLM-powered workflows — think document extraction, entity resolution, and guided form completion, all driven by prompts that need to be reliable at scale. We're hiring a prompt engineer on a 6-month contract to help us harden our prompt library. Right now we have ~40 production prompts powering different onboarding steps, and they need systematic evaluation, versioning, and optimization. You'll work with our backend team to build evaluation harnesses and run structured experiments on prompt variants. This is a hands-on role. You'll spend your days writing prompts, measuring their outputs against gold-standard datasets, and iterating. If you enjoy the puzzle of making LLMs behave consistently, this is a great fit.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and optimize 40+ production prompts for accuracy and consistency
  • Build evaluation harnesses to measure prompt performance at scale
  • Design prompt versioning and A/B testing workflows
  • Partner with backend engineers to integrate prompt changes safely
  • Document prompt patterns and anti-patterns for the team

Requirements

  • 2+ years working with LLMs in a product context
  • Deep experience with OpenAI API and prompt engineering techniques
  • Familiarity with LangChain and RAG architectures
  • Strong analytical skills — you measure before you optimize
  • Ability to communicate prompt design decisions clearly to engineers
