Senior AI Mule Account Detection Scientist

About the role

Money mule networks move stolen funds through ordinary-looking retail accounts, and by the time a bank notices, the money is usually gone. Mendra Intelligence supplies financial crime analytics to 12 regional banks across Southeast Asia, where reliability and auditability are non-negotiable. We'll give you access to anonymized account and transfer data to build models that flag likely mule accounts early, often within days of opening. The role is on-site in our Singapore office because of data residency requirements, working with our investigations team.

Responsibilities

  • Build models that detect mule account behaviour from onboarding, device and transaction signals
  • Work with investigators to validate alerts and refine labels
  • Produce model documentation that satisfies regulators and bank model risk teams
  • Monitor model performance and retrain as fraud patterns shift

Requirements

  • Senior experience in fraud, AML or financial crime modelling
  • Strong Python, SQL and Spark skills
  • Experience with model governance and documentation in regulated industries
  • Able to work on-site in Singapore
