Senior AI Music Catalog Metadata Enrichment Engineer

About the role

We just signed three independent labels and our catalog jumped from 400,000 to 2.1 million tracks overnight. Half of the new tracks arrive with little more than a title and an artist name. Reltrix Studio needs rich metadata (mood, instrumentation, tempo, vocal style, lyric themes) to power licensing search and playlisting, and we need it fast. This is a contract-to-hire role: six months on contract, then conversion to full-time if it works for both sides. You'll build audio and text tagging models, run them across the catalog on Spark, and set up quality checks with our music supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Build audio tagging models for mood, instrumentation and vocal characteristics
  • Extract lyric themes and language with text models where lyrics are available
  • Run large-scale batch enrichment on Spark and track tag coverage per label
  • Work with music supervisors to calibrate tags against how they actually search

Requirements

  • Proven experience with music information retrieval or audio classification
  • Comfortable running ML jobs at scale on Spark or similar frameworks
  • Strong PyTorch skills and familiarity with pretrained audio models
  • Genuine interest in music; you will listen to a lot of it
