Senior Analytics Engineer – dbt & BigQuery

About the role
Our dbt project is a mess. Forty models, no tests, documentation nobody has touched in six months, and a naming convention that only one person understands. We need someone who has fixed this kind of thing before — not someone who will add more models on top of the pile. You'll start with a full audit, rebuild the foundation, set the coding standards, and then mentor the two junior analysts who maintain it after you.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of our dbt project
- Build clean, well-documented data models for operations and finance
- Set coding standards and review all analytics team PRs
- Collaborate with data engineering on source data contracts
- Mentor junior analytics engineers
Requirements
- 4+ years analytics engineering with dbt (Core or Cloud)
- Strong SQL — complex modelling across BigQuery or Snowflake
- Experience with data modelling patterns (dimensional, OBT, etc.)
- Able to set dbt standards and review team PRs
- Comfort working with operational or supply chain data is a plus
