About the role

We power the AI assistant behind 3 major airline customer support lines. When a passenger texts about a delayed flight, rebooking options, or a lost bag, our system handles 70% of inquiries without a human agent. That's 2 million conversations a month resolved by AI — and we're expanding to 5 more airlines this year. As a senior conversational AI architect, you'll own the system design: multi-turn dialogue management, dynamic context assembly from 15+ backend systems (reservations, loyalty, baggage tracking), and the guardrails that prevent the AI from saying something a billion-dollar airline can't take back. This is a high-stakes system design role. A wrong answer about a cancellation policy costs real money. A hallucinated flight number creates a PR incident. You need to design for reliability first, capability second.

Responsibilities

  • Architect the conversational AI system serving 2M+ monthly airline interactions
  • Design multi-turn dialogue management with dynamic context from 15+ backend systems
  • Build guardrails and output validation to prevent costly AI errors
  • Lead technical architecture for expansion to 5 new airline clients
  • Mentor a team of 3 conversational AI engineers

Requirements

  • 6+ years in NLP or conversational AI with production system experience
  • Deep LangChain and RAG architecture expertise
  • Experience designing multi-turn dialogue systems at scale
  • Strong system design skills for high-reliability applications
  • Experience in customer-facing AI with real-world consequence management
