About the role

You'll be the fourth engineer on a team of nine, and we don't care where you work from as long as the work gets done and communication stays clear. Our stack is Python and Kafka for event streaming, with a partner-facing API gateway handling millions of requests a day. In this role you'll build the model that analyzes usage patterns before a version deprecation goes out, predicting which partners will break and how badly. It's interesting work because the impact is immediate and visible: every deprecation notice we send is informed by your model instead of a guess from the API team.

Fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Build models predicting partner impact from API deprecations
  • Analyze usage logs to identify at-risk integrations
  • Generate deprecation impact reports for the partner team
  • Maintain data pipelines feeding the impact model
  • Collaborate async with partner success on rollout timing

Requirements

  • 3+ years working with API platforms or usage analytics
  • Experience with Kafka or similar streaming systems
  • Strong Python and SQL skills
  • Comfortable working fully async across time zones
  • Experience with containerized deployments
