About the role

We build the automated inspection lines that catch defects before products leave the warehouse floor. Ontix Intelligence's vision systems already handle surface defect and thermal anomaly detection for a dozen manufacturing clients. You'll build a new vision pipeline focused specifically on barcode and label verification — catching misprints, smudges, and misalignment before packaging errors reach a customer's warehouse. This runs on-site, integrated with our existing camera rigs and conveyor triggers. It's a well-scoped, high-impact problem: mislabeled shipments are one of our clients' most expensive and most preventable errors, and a working solution here pays for itself within months.

Responsibilities

  • Build a computer vision pipeline for barcode and label defect detection
  • Integrate detection models with existing camera rigs and conveyor systems
  • Train and validate models against real production label defect samples
  • Containerize inference for on-site deployment with Docker
  • Work with plant engineers to tune detection thresholds

Requirements

  • Computer vision experience, ideally in an industrial inspection context
  • TensorFlow experience for model training
  • Docker experience for on-site deployment
  • Willingness to work on-site at client manufacturing facilities
  • Attention to detail with defect classification edge cases
