AI Catastrophe Bond Pricing Analyst

Violet Adeyemi

Full-time · Job · New_York

About the role

We serve reinsurers and cat-bond issuers who need faster, more defensible pricing when a hurricane model update lands three days before a deal closes. The person in this role owns the bridge between our climate simulation outputs and the actuarial pricing sheets our clients sign off on. You'll rebuild loss-exceedance curves as new peril data arrives, stress-test tranche attachment points, and explain assumption changes to portfolio managers who are not data scientists. This is a client-facing analytical role as much as a modeling one — clarity matters as much as accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Translate peril model output into loss-exceedance curves for bond tranches
  • Own quarterly repricing cycles ahead of renewal season
  • Partner with client actuaries to validate attachment point assumptions
  • Document methodology changes for rating agency review

Requirements

  • Background in actuarial science, statistics, or quantitative finance
  • Comfortable with catastrophe modeling concepts (AAL, exceedance probability)
  • Fluent in python and sql for large loss datasets
  • Able to present pricing rationale to non-technical stakeholders

Benefits

  • Fully remote position
  • Performance bonus tied to renewal season deals
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Reinsurance conference travel budget
