About the role

Docker, Kubernetes, and container image registries are the foundation of what Covex Cloud manages for ML platform clients. We're building an AI-assisted vulnerability scanning layer that goes beyond static CVE matching — one that can prioritize vulnerabilities by actual exploitability risk in ML pipeline contexts, not just severity score. In this contract role, you'll design and implement ML models that score container image vulnerabilities by contextual risk, build the automated scanning pipeline that integrates with our CI/CD workflows, and develop the alerting logic that tells platform engineers what to patch first and why. You'll work with our infrastructure engineering team who understand the deployment topology and with security researchers who define the risk taxonomy. This is a 5-month contract with a well-defined deliverable: a production-ready vulnerability prioritization service integrated into the Covex platform. If you have experience at the intersection of cloud security, container infrastructure, and ML, this is a high-impact, well-scoped engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Design ML models for container vulnerability contextual risk scoring
  • Build automated scanning pipelines integrated with CI/CD and image registry workflows
  • Develop prioritization and alerting logic for ML platform engineers
  • Own integration with Kubernetes admission controllers for policy enforcement
  • Produce clear documentation and handoff materials at engagement end

Requirements

  • 5+ years cloud infrastructure or ML platform engineering
  • Deep expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and container security concepts
  • Experience with vulnerability scoring frameworks (CVSS, EPSS)
  • Strong Python skills
  • AWS security tooling experience is a significant plus
