AI Conveyor Belt Object Counting Engineer

About the role

You'll be the fourth vision engineer on a team of fourteen, working alongside process engineers embedded on client factory floors. We already run defect detection models on twelve production lines. What's missing is accurate real-time counting of parts moving on conveyor belts at variable speed, which our clients need for throughput reporting and shift-level yield tracking. Your role is to take our existing detection models and build the counting and tracking layer on top, then deploy it across the same camera rigs already installed on client lines — no new hardware, just better software.

Responsibilities

  • Build real-time object counting and tracking on top of existing detection models
  • Handle variable belt speed and occlusion in tracking logic
  • Deploy counting pipelines to existing on-site camera rigs
  • Work with process engineers to validate counts against manual audits
  • Optimize inference for edge hardware constraints

Requirements

  • Experience with computer vision object tracking in production
  • Proficiency in Python and TensorFlow
  • Understanding of edge deployment constraints
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to client sites
