About the role

PyTorch isn't the core of this one, pandas and clean SQL pipelines are. Our chargeback prevention and payment routing systems already optimize domestic transaction flow well, but cross-border payments still convert currency at whatever rate the default provider offers at that exact moment, costing merchants real margin on every international sale. This role builds models that time and route currency conversion to minimize cost across a merchant's international transaction volume.

Responsibilities

  • Build models that forecast favorable currency conversion timing windows
  • Route cross-border transactions across providers to minimize conversion cost
  • Analyze merchant-level savings and report impact to the product team
  • Maintain conversion routing logic as provider rates and fees change

Requirements

  • Strong SQL and pandas skills for financial transaction data
  • Some exposure to foreign exchange or payments data a plus
  • Comfortable with statistical forecasting techniques
  • Ability to explain routing decisions clearly to merchant partners
