About the role

The exceptions you'll track will directly determine whether a governance audit takes an afternoon or a week, and right now every exception lives in someone's inbox. You'll build a lightweight system that logs, categorizes, and tracks the lifecycle of governance policy exceptions, replacing scattered email threads with a single searchable record. This plugs into our existing data governance platform used across the broader engineering org.

Responsibilities

  • Build a tracking system for data governance policy exceptions
  • Own the ETL pipeline pulling exception requests from existing sources
  • Partner with governance analysts to define exception categories
  • Generate reporting views for audit season readiness

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience with SQL and data pipeline basics
  • Comfortable with Python for lightweight ETL work
  • Interest in data governance or compliance workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation habits
