About the role

You'll be the fourth data engineer on a team of eleven, working directly with the on-call rotation lead. We already have solid pipeline observability, but every incident still starts with someone hunting through old Slack threads to remember how the last similar failure got fixed. We don't care where you work from. We care about output, clear communication, and this role's output is simple: auto-generated runbooks that pull from past incident resolutions so on-call engineers aren't starting from zero.

Responsibilities

  • Build a system that generates runbooks from past incident resolutions
  • Design retrieval logic that surfaces the most relevant past incident
  • Partner with the on-call lead on runbook quality feedback

Requirements

  • 5+ years in data engineering or platform reliability
  • Experience with Airflow and incident response tooling
  • Comfortable working async on a distributed team
