About the role

Our clients include large-scale digital platforms and financial services companies processing millions of data subject requests per year under GDPR, CCPA, and emerging global privacy laws. Right now, they're handling those requests with manual ticket workflows and overloaded privacy operations teams. At Wolvex Cloud, we're automating that — and we need an engineer to build the AI layer that sits in the middle. In this senior contract role, you'll build the automation pipeline that classifies incoming data subject requests by type (access, deletion, portability, correction), verifies identity, routes to the appropriate data systems for fulfillment, and generates the regulatory response correspondence. You'll work with privacy legal counsel and data engineering teams at client organizations to validate that the automation meets their regulatory interpretation. This is a 6-month engagement with a well-defined output: a production-ready DSAR automation pipeline integrated with at least one client's data systems. We need an engineer who has delivered in regulated environments before and understands that privacy automation requires both technical precision and legal defensibility.

Responsibilities

  • Build request classification models for GDPR/CCPA data subject request type categorization
  • Develop identity verification pipeline integrated with client identity management systems
  • Implement routing logic to data systems for access, deletion, and portability fulfillment
  • Generate regulatory response correspondence with audit trail documentation
  • Validate automation logic against client privacy legal counsel requirements

Requirements

  • 5+ years software or data engineering experience in regulated environments
  • Strong Python, FastAPI, and SQL skills
  • Experience with GDPR, CCPA, or similar privacy regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to work with legal and compliance stakeholders on technical design decisions
  • Kubernetes-based deployment experience

Benefits

  • Hybrid London engagement (2 days/week)
  • Negotiable senior contract rate
  • Potential to extend or convert to permanent
  • Access to Wolvex privacy platform infrastructure
  • Privacy regulation training and certification support
