AI Employee Onboarding Task Orchestrator

About the role

Have you ever wanted to fix a process everyone complains about but nobody has time to rebuild properly? New hire onboarding at our client companies still runs through a scattered checklist of emails, spreadsheets, and Slack reminders someone has to manually trigger. You'll build a workflow orchestrator that automatically sequences onboarding tasks across HR, IT, and hiring managers, sending the right reminder to the right person at the right step, and escalating when something stalls for too long. This is a part-time role, well suited to someone building experience with workflow automation tooling alongside other commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Build task orchestration logic for multi-step onboarding workflows
  • Wire up FastAPI endpoints that trigger and track workflow steps
  • Implement escalation logic for stalled onboarding tasks
  • Iterate based on feedback from HR and hiring manager users

Requirements

  • Some experience building automation or workflow tooling
  • Working knowledge of Python and basic API development
  • Comfortable working part-time hours with occasional sync check-ins
  • Interest in HR tech or internal tooling
