About the role

The feature queries you'll optimize run millions of times a day across every model our platform serves, and even small inefficiencies compound into real infrastructure cost at that scale. We need a senior engineer to profile our highest-cost feature queries and rework them for both speed and warehouse spend, working across Spark and Snowflake without breaking the freshness guarantees downstream models depend on.

Responsibilities

  • Profile and optimize the highest-cost feature queries in production
  • Rework Spark and Snowflake queries for both speed and cost
  • Maintain feature freshness guarantees while optimizing execution
  • Report warehouse cost savings to platform and finance stakeholders

Requirements

  • 6+ years working with Spark and cloud data warehouses at scale
  • Deep understanding of query optimization and cost tradeoffs
  • Experience with feature stores or online/offline feature parity
  • Comfortable owning cost outcomes with measurable targets
