About the role

We just closed a major mandate to model catastrophe bond risk for three institutional asset managers, and we need a senior quant who can build defensible risk models on a tight timeline. You will build pricing and risk models for insurance-linked securities, incorporating catastrophe modeling data, historical loss experience, and climate trend adjustments, producing risk assessments our clients use to price allocations. This role reports directly to our Head of Quantitative Research and carries significant compensation upside tied to assets under advisement growth.

Responsibilities

  • Build pricing and risk models for insurance-linked securities and catastrophe bonds
  • Incorporate climate trend adjustments into historical loss experience models
  • Produce risk assessments institutional clients use for allocation decisions
  • Own model validation and documentation for institutional due diligence
  • Present model methodology directly to institutional client risk committees

Requirements

  • 8+ years in quantitative risk modeling, ideally insurance or reinsurance
  • Strong Python, R, and statistics background
  • Experience with catastrophe modeling data and methodologies
  • Comfortable presenting to institutional risk committees
