AI Insurance Policy Document Comparison Engineer

About the role

Insurance underwriters at our client firms spend hours manually comparing renewal policy documents against prior versions to spot silently changed clauses. We already have document extraction and clause classification models running in production for several clients. What's missing is a comparison engine that highlights exactly what changed between policy versions, flagged by risk significance rather than raw text diff. You'll build that comparison layer on an initial six-month contract, working two days a week from our Chicago client site during the pilot phase.

Responsibilities

  • Build clause-level comparison models for insurance policy versions
  • Rank detected changes by underwriting risk significance
  • Integrate comparison output into existing extraction pipelines
  • Work on-site with underwriters during the pilot phase

Requirements

  • 3+ years in document AI or insurance technology
  • Strong Python and ETL pipeline experience
  • Familiarity with insurance policy structures a plus
  • Available for a 6-month contract, two days on-site
