AI Internal Investigation Data Analyst

Liam Singh

Full-time · Job · New_York

About the role

When a company receives a whistleblower report or launches an internal investigation, the investigation team needs to reconstruct what happened from fragmented evidence: email threads, access logs, financial records, HR files, and interview notes. Our platform helps investigation teams find the patterns that connect disparate evidence sources, but surfacing those patterns requires data analysis that the platform doesn't yet do automatically. As a data analyst on our investigations product team, you'll build the analytical templates and tooling that make our platform smarter: anomaly detection for financial transaction patterns, communication network analysis for identifying undisclosed relationships, timeline construction from multi-source event logs, and entity resolution for matching names across inconsistent records. You'll work on anonymized investigation datasets from real cases, with ex-forensic accountants and former FBI agents who know what investigative signals actually matter. The role is hybrid — two days per week in our Manhattan office, which gives you direct access to the investigations team. Handling sensitive data responsibly is a core competency here; strong information security practices are non-negotiable.

Responsibilities

  • Build anomaly detection templates for financial transaction pattern analysis
  • Develop communication network analysis for relationship mapping in investigations
  • Create timeline construction tools from multi-source document event logs
  • Implement entity resolution across inconsistent name and identifier records
  • Maintain analytical tooling used by investigation teams on active cases
  • Document analytical methodology for legal defensibility of findings

Requirements

  • 3+ years in data analysis or forensic analytics with investigative domain experience
  • Strong Python and SQL skills with network analysis familiarity
  • Experience handling sensitive data with appropriate security practices
  • Ability to translate ambiguous investigative questions into structured analysis
  • Attention to accuracy when findings may have legal or regulatory consequences

Benefits

  • Hybrid: 2 days Manhattan office, 3 days remote
  • Health and dental insurance
  • $2,500 professional development budget
  • Unique exposure to forensic data science applied to real investigations
  • Security clearance sponsorship available for eligible candidates
