AI Lobbying Disclosure Compliance Analyst

About the role

Our mission is to make regulatory compliance accessible to organizations that can't afford a full legal team. You'll join a small group of policy researchers and engineers who believe transparency tools shouldn't only exist for companies with deep pockets. Our product ingests lobbying disclosure filings from federal and state registries and flags gaps, inconsistencies, and upcoming deadlines automatically. What we expect from you is curiosity about policy data and a willingness to get hands-on with messy government filings that don't always follow a clean schema. You'll help extend our disclosure-matching logic to new jurisdictions as we grow coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Extract structured data from lobbying disclosure filings
  • Flag inconsistencies and missing disclosures for review
  • Support expansion of coverage to new state jurisdictions
  • Document edge cases in filing formats for the extraction pipeline
  • Validate model outputs against source filings

Requirements

  • 1-2 years working with public policy or regulatory data
  • Comfortable with Python and basic data wrangling
  • Strong attention to detail with messy real-world data
  • Interest in government transparency and civic tech
  • Ability to work independently on a contract basis
