AI Methane Leak Detection Engineer

Chloe Schneider

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

We serve over 200 industrial and energy clients tracking emissions compliance, and methane leak detection is the single highest-impact gap in their monitoring stack today. You'll build models that process thermal and hyperspectral imagery from fixed and drone-mounted sensors to detect leaks earlier and with fewer false positives than current threshold-based systems. The team already ships several emissions monitoring products; this role adds a new sensing modality to that portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Build and train leak detection models on thermal and hyperspectral imagery
  • Own false-positive reduction work against field validation data
  • Partner with client engineering teams on sensor deployment feedback
  • Extend detection coverage to new sensor types over time

Requirements

  • 5+ years in computer vision or remote sensing applications
  • Experience with thermal or hyperspectral imagery a strong plus
  • Strong PyTorch and statistical validation skills
  • Energy or environmental monitoring domain exposure a plus

Benefits

  • Fully remote position
  • Competitive salary + equity
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Climate-focused mission with measurable impact
