AI Model Governance Approval Workflow Engineer

About the role

Our model registry and feature store already track what's been trained and what data it used. What's missing is a structured approval gate before a model actually ships to production — right now a model can slip through without every required check. In this role, you'll build the governance workflow that routes a model through required checks — bias review, performance thresholds, lineage verification — before it can be promoted from staging to production in the registry. This directly reduces risk for every team using our platform: a model that skips a required check today can quietly ship to production, and that's the gap this role closes for the whole company.

Responsibilities

  • Build approval workflow gates within the existing model registry
  • Integrate bias review, performance threshold, and lineage checks into the gate
  • Coordinate with model owners to resolve blocked approvals quickly
  • Track approval cycle time and reduce unnecessary friction
  • Maintain audit logs of every approval decision

Requirements

  • Experience with MLflow or a comparable model registry tool
  • Comfortable with Docker and Kubernetes for workflow service deployment
  • Familiarity with Airflow for orchestrating multi-step approval checks
  • Understanding of AWS-based infrastructure for registry integration
