AI Multilingual Annotation Guideline Translator

About the role

Python and Hugging Face annotation tooling are the core of what our labeling pipeline runs on. If you've ever watched a labeling guideline lose all its nuance in translation, this role is for you. You'll join a cross-functional squad with defined sprints, clear ownership, and weekly syncs with our linguistics and ops leads. Your job is to adapt annotation guidelines from English into the eight languages our labeling workforce operates in, without losing the edge cases that make the difference between a good and a bad label. You'll work hands-on with annotators to catch places where translated instructions create confusion.

Responsibilities

  • Translate and adapt annotation guidelines across eight languages
  • Work with annotators to identify confusing instructions
  • Maintain a glossary of labeling terminology per language
  • Flag edge cases that need guideline clarification
  • Support onboarding of new multilingual annotation teams

Requirements

  • 1-2 years in localization, linguistics, or data annotation
  • Fluency in English plus at least one additional language
  • Familiarity with data labeling or annotation workflows
  • Basic Python skills for working with annotation tooling
  • Strong attention to nuance and detail
