AI Notification Fatigue Prediction Engineer

Aaliyah Okafor

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

Our mission is to make personalization feel helpful instead of exhausting, and this role sits right at the center of that. The team combines data scientists and a privacy lead who reviews every new signal before it ships. Our product recommends and times notifications across millions of users, and what we expect from you is a model that predicts when a user is approaching notification fatigue so we can back off before they disengage or uninstall. This work matters because over-notifying erodes trust fast, and once a user mutes us, we rarely get that attention back.

Responsibilities

  • Build models predicting user notification fatigue
  • Define fatigue thresholds in partnership with the privacy lead
  • Ship fatigue scores into the notification timing engine
  • Measure impact on uninstall and opt-out rates
  • Monitor for fairness across user segments

Requirements

  • 3+ years in personalization or recommender systems
  • Strong Python and applied statistics background
  • Experience with large-scale behavioral datasets
  • Comfortable partnering with privacy and ethics reviewers
  • Familiarity with Spark or similar distributed processing

Benefits

  • Remote position
  • Health and wellness stipend
  • Four-day work week trial program
  • Equity package
  • Volunteer time off
