About the role

Prixel Labs builds foundational computer vision capabilities for autonomous systems and AR/VR applications. We've invested heavily in 3D reconstruction and depth estimation — optical flow is the next capability we're building out, and we need an engineer who can own it end to end. In this role, you'll implement and extend state-of-the-art optical flow estimation models, evaluate performance across diverse scene types (outdoor driving, indoor robotics, AR overlay contexts), and build the evaluation harness that benchmarks our models against RAFT, FlowFormer, and other published baselines. You'll also work with the robotics team to integrate flow estimates into their motion planning pipeline. This is an individual contributor role with a tight research-to-engineering feedback loop. You'll read papers, implement methods, run benchmarks, and ship. We don't have long planning cycles — if a new method looks promising on Monday, we expect a prototype by Friday. Mid-level with clear growth potential on the research track.

Fully remote.

  • Integrate flow estimates into downstream motion planning pipelines
  • Document model design decisions and performance trade-offs for internal research log

Requirements

  • 3+ years computer vision ML engineering experience
  • Experience implementing optical flow or dense motion estimation methods
  • Strong PyTorch and Python skills
  • Familiarity with Sintel, KITTI, or similar optical flow benchmark datasets
  • Ability to implement published methods quickly from papers

Benefits

  • Fully remote
  • Research-first culture with paper reading sessions
  • Health and dental insurance
  • GPU compute credits for personal experiments
