AI Private Equity Deal Sourcing Screener

Dominic Johansson

Full-time · Job · New_York

About the role

We just closed a partnership with three mid-market private equity funds who need a faster way to screen inbound deal flow before it reaches a partner's desk. Reliability matters here because a missed signal means a missed deal. What we have today is a strong data pipeline covering company filings, hiring signals, and news mentions. What's missing is a screening model that ranks inbound opportunities against each fund's specific investment thesis instead of a generic scoring formula. Your role is to build that thesis-aware screening model and work hybrid with our deal team two days a week to calibrate it against real partner decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Build a thesis-aware deal screening model
  • Calibrate scoring against partner investment decisions
  • Integrate company filings, hiring, and news signals
  • Work hybrid with the deal team on calibration sessions
  • Maintain screening accuracy metrics for each fund

Requirements

  • 5+ years building scoring or ranking models in finance
  • Experience with Spark and large structured datasets
  • Comfortable working hybrid with a deal team
  • Strong SQL and statistics background

Benefits

  • Hybrid schedule, two days on-site
  • Performance bonus tied to deal outcomes
  • Health, dental and vision insurance
  • Stock options
