About the role

We're building the forecasting layer that grocery and fresh-goods retailers use to decide when to mark down inventory before it spoils or goes stale. Right now our clients rely on static markdown schedules that leave money on the table. You'll build the model recommending markdown timing and depth per SKU per store, then package it into a dashboard buyers actually trust and use daily. You'll join a cross-functional squad with defined sprints, clear ownership over the markdown model, and weekly syncs with the retail operations lead on the client side.

Responsibilities

  • Build markdown timing and depth recommendation models per SKU
  • Package model outputs into buyer-facing dashboards
  • Validate recommendations against realized sell-through and waste data
  • Partner with client retail ops teams on rollout
  • Monitor model performance across seasonal demand shifts

Requirements

  • Experience with demand or pricing forecasting models
  • Strong SQL and Python skills
  • Comfortable presenting model logic to non-technical buyers
  • Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools
