AI Robot Actuator Predictive Maintenance Engineer

Riley Magnusson

Full-time · Job · Denver

About the role

Our robots run twenty-hour shifts moving inventory through warehouses handling 50,000 orders a day, and an actuator failure mid-shift means a stalled line and an angry client. Reinforcement learning and PyTorch are the core of what we build for motion control, but this role is about the sensor data those same robots generate as a byproduct — vibration, current draw, temperature — and turning it into failure predictions before a breakdown happens. Fast-moving team, big problem — you'll spend most of your time moving between historical failure logs and live sensor streams from our on-site testing floor.

Responsibilities

  • Build predictive maintenance models from robot actuator sensor data
  • Validate failure predictions against real breakdown logs
  • Run analysis on the on-site testing floor alongside hardware engineers
  • Containerize training and inference pipelines using Docker

Requirements

  • 5+ years applying ML to sensor or time-series failure prediction
  • Strong PyTorch and NumPy skills
  • Comfortable working on-site with physical robot hardware

Benefits

  • On-site access to a full robotics test floor
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Annual bonus tied to fleet efficiency gains
